Emerson Hospital golf tournament raises more than $60,000

The 10th annual Emerson Hospital Golf Tournament, held at Concord’s Nashawtuc Country Club, raised more than $60,000. This year's event brings the total raised from the annual fundraiser to more than $700,000. Funds from the golf tournament, which is sponsored by the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary, support a variety of patient programs, including the pediatric intervention team, nursing scholarships, specialized patient equipment, and Emerson's $36-million initiative to enhance the patient experience in three key areas (surgery, obstetrics, and radiology).

Oh Baby! Ball benefits Birthing Center expansion
More than 600 guests attended Emerson’s gala at the Boston Park Plaza, titled Oh Baby!, which raised funds for the Birthing Center. Emerson staff, volunteers, Board members, medical staff and other members of the hospital community together raised more than $280,000 in support of the expansion and renovation of the Birthing Center. The expansion is part of the hospital’s recently-completed $36-million construction project (Project SCORE), which enhanced the patient experience in three key areas (surgery center, obstetrics, and radiology).

“Thank you to the Oh Baby! committee, our sponsors and guests, and to those who purchased raffle tickets in support of the event,” said Christine Schuster, Emerson Hospital president and CEO. In addition to raffle prizes, which included a week of skiing in Vermont, a Nantucket vacation and a week in Cape Cod, guests also enjoyed a gourmet meal and danced to the Boston band Flipside.

Pictured at the Ball are, left to right, Liza Carey, Cynthia Deysher, Christine Schuster, Emerson Hospital president and CEO, and Hilary Steinert. Carey, Deysher, and Steinert were co-chairs of the event. Missing from the photo is the fourth co-chair, Betty Ann Killian.
