The Elizabeth Smith Agarwal Diabetes Center:

The Elizabeth Smith Agarwal Diabetes Center is under the direction of endocrinologist, Aldona Finkle, MD. The successful management of diabetes is dependent on the knowledge and active involvement of the patient, together with the expertise of healthcare professionals and other supporting individuals. Patients will receive monitoring and education at the Diabetes Center from a certified diabetes educator as well as nutritional counseling from a certified nutrition counselor. Emerson Hospital’s diabetes education program is certified by the American Diabetes Association.

PET/CT Scanning:

PET/CT scanning, which is a sophisticated diagnostic imaging tool that is used to detect and monitor cancer and other serious health conditions, will be available for the first time in our community. The PET/CT scanner compiles images from the two scanners (PET and CT) to obtain a complete picture of the area of concern. This information helps our highly trained physicians to make the appropriate diagnosis, plan treatment and then monitor progress.

The Weight Management Center:

The Weight Management Center includes the hospital’s surgical and medical weight loss programs. Emerson’s Surgical Weight Loss Program helps individuals with morbid obesity. The program is comprehensive and includes a team of three surgeons, a nurse practitioner, a dietician, a mental health practitioner and a program coordinator.
