At Emerson Hospital’s Annual Meeting held recently, seven residents of Concord were elected as Corporators of the hospital. Corporators represent the health and wellness interests of the 25 communities served by the hospital. They become very knowledgeable about the hospital’s mission and the services it provides by attending educational programs.
“Our Corporators are an integral part of Emerson’s mission to provide health care to every person in the 25 towns that the hospital serves,” said Paul D. Birch, Chair, Emerson Hospital Board of Directors. “Through their work as ambassadors and informed citizens, they educate the community on the many ways that Emerson is providing exceptional health care and wellness programs. We are grateful to our Corporators who have taken on the responsibility to serve their community and Emerson in this important way.”
Emerson relies on its volunteer corporators as ambassadors of the hospital through the work they do communicating information about the hospital's programs and services to the residents and businesses in their communities. Corporators also elect the hospital’s Board of Directors and Corporators every year at the hospital’s annual meeting.
“We are proud of our new Corporators from Concord and look forward to working with them to deepen our relationships with residents as we expand our capabilities and provide the highest quality health care to everyone in Emerson’s service area,” added Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson.
Emerson Hospital’s new Corporators from Concord are:
- Cristina Coletta Blau – a Trusts and Estates attorney. She is a graduate of Harvard College, Georgetown University, and Boston University. Cristina has held leadership positions with several area non-profits, including The Concord Free Public Library, The Fenn School and Harvard University where she is a member of the Harvard Alumni Association Board of Directors.
- Joseph C. Lerner – managing partner of Cycle Power Partners, an energy investment firm in Oregon. He is on the advisory board of Enterprise Bank and is a member of the school search committee for Applewild School in Fitchburg.
- Susanne Liebich – founder of Dancing Wellness, teaching traditional and therapeutic dance to all ages and all stages for The Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body. She has designed a girls’ empowerment program called “GirlPower!” Susanne provides outreach services to Metro Youth Services Correctional Facility in Dorchester and ran the Cultural Enrichment Committee for Willard Elementary School for seven years.
- Philip Lotane - a corporate attorney and founder of Venture Advisors Legal, PC. He is board chairman for the Research Institute for Learning and Development in Lexington.
- Susan Miller – a self-employed attorney with health care specialization in the HIPAA laws and regulations. She is past chair of the Concord Finance Committee and past chair of the Concord Light Plan Commissioners. She is active in the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. She is also active in the Tufts University Alumni Association.
- Joshua Nelson – a partner and managing director of private equity firm, Thomas H. Lee Partners, in Concord. He serves on the board of the Boston Public Library Foundation and serves as annual giving Section representative for the Harvard Business School.
- Sarah Newton – a retired real estate asset manager and pension fund advisor at AEW Capital Management. She is an active volunteer in the towns of Concord and Nantucket. She is on the board of trustees for St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH and is on the committee of Trustees of reservations for Nantucket.
These corporators from Concord are part of the class of 2017 which is comprised of corporators from towns throughout Emerson’s service area including Acton, Carlisle, Lexington, Sudbury and Westford.
