Emerson Hospital has announced the date of its 2016 gala to support cancer care at the hospital. The “Black & White Masquerade Ball’ dinner and dance will take place on Saturday, October 29 in the evening, at The Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel. Sponsorships are now available.
Funds raised from the Gala will support the redevelopment and expansion of the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital-Bethke and the Naka Infusion Center. The expansion is designed with the well-being, privacy and comfort of patients and their families in mind and features new and expanded exam space to accommodate state-of-the-art technology and the latest in patient care. For nearly twenty years, Emerson, in collaboration with Mass General Hospital, has provided the best care to cancer patients, right in their own community.
Led by co-chairs Denise Haartz, Sandra Schelzi, and Lynda Voghel of Concord, the “Black & White Masquerade Ball” Committee selected the venue for its beautiful ballroom overlooking the historic Boston waterfront. The Marsels, known as one of Boston’s best party bands, will lend its musical talents to the gala. Attendees will also enjoy a four-course gourmet meal and may participate in a silent auction with prizes including travel and adventure experiences, professional sports tickets and more. In keeping with the theme of the evening, participants are encouraged to wear masks.
"We are thrilled to support this year's Gala to benefit cancer care at Emerson Hospital," said Lynda Voghel. "Many friends, family members, and neighbors in our community have been diagnosed and treated for cancer at Emerson. Last year, my Dad was diagnosed with liver cancer and I immediately contacted Emerson Hospital. He was treated at Emerson by one of the leading doctors at Mass General Hospital for his type of cancer. All of his visits and treatments were at Emerson, giving us the best peace-of-mind knowing he was receiving the very best care – and that it was so close to home. Emerson Hospital's staff helped my Dad and our family through an emotionally difficult time and we will be forever grateful. This is why I am not only a sponsor of the Gala, but also decided to serve as a co-chair of the event. I invite you to join us for a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing to benefit cancer care at Emerson Hospital."
Four sponsorship levels: Presenting Sponsor at $50,000; Major Benefactor at $25,000; Benefactor at $10,000; and Patron at $5,000, provide an excellent opportunity for individuals and corporations to be recognized as community leaders while supporting outstanding cancer care at Emerson.
