On Thursday, November 17, the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital will present an energetic and informative educational event, Get Fit! Have Fun!  The event will be heldfrom 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Emerson Hospital Wellness Center for Mind and Body, located in the Concord Meadows office park at 310 Baker Avenue, Concord.

The evening begins with a smoothie demonstration by Debra Stark from Debra’s Natural Gourmet in Concord. Samples of these tasty smoothies will be served to attendees along with recipes!  In addition, two instructors from Emerson’s Wellness Center will do demonstrations: Ming Wu, Ph.D. will show attendees Tai Chi and Qigong - both ancient Chinese martial art and movement techniques with health benefits such as improved balance, posture, breathing, and overall strength. Susanne Liebich, Emerson wellness instructor, will demonstrate Nia, a dynamic blend of dance, martial arts, and healing arts to benefit body, mind, emotion, and spirit.

The public is invited to attend this free event.  Bring a friend and join us for the opportunity to learn more about these beneficial and mindful exercise techniques.  Also, enjoy learning how to make healthy smoothies!  Free, convenient parking is available.
