Lowell Family Welcomes Newborn Son on Mother’s Day

Liam Konor Harrington gave his family his family an extra special gift when he arrived on Mother’s Day, two weeks early. He was born at 2:43 p.m., and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and measured 21 inches long, Liam’s parents are Beverly Pena and Josh Harrington of Lowell. He joins his big brothers Noah and Domenik.

Liam was delivered by Dr. Emily Strehle, DO of AFA Obstetrics & Gynecology who was covering for Beverly’s regular obstetrician, Dr. Richard Rubin, MD of Concord OB/GYN.

“I did not expect to have a baby born on Mother’s Day until I went into labor very early Sunday morning,” explains Beverly Pena. “Our plans were to have a nice breakfast made by Noah at home and dinner out – that did not happen. Instead, Liam arrived! He is the best Mother’s Day gift and he brings special meaning to the holiday.”

The parents chose to deliver Liam at the Emerson Hospital Clough Birthing Center because they were looking for a very caring and nurturing place to have a baby. “We have found it at Emerson. The experience is everything we wanted,” said Beverly. “Right after he was born I was bonding with him skin-to-skin. It has been wonderful.”

“All of our family, friends and co-workers were anxiously awaiting Liam’s arrival,” explains Josh Harrington. “When Liam was born, everyone in the labor room and everyone we know was wishing Beverly a Happy Mother’s Day.
