Emerson Hospital is honored to be named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics in 2016 by the Women’s Choice Award, a national referral source for women. The recognition is based on Emerson’s safety in obstetrical and maternal care, patient satisfaction scores, and its high percentage of full-term deliveries.
“We are proud to be named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics,” said Christine Schuster, president and CEO, Emerson Hospital. “Our labor & delivery and maternity teams are focused on providing exceptional care to new mothers and their babies. Many expectant parents choose Emerson to deliver their baby because patients have access to highly skilled physician and nursing teams, along with the latest equipment, technology and amenities. This honor reflects how we care for mothers and their babies in the safest and most compassionate ways possible.”
Emerson was chosen among maternity hospitals throughout the United States based on three criteria: patient safety rankings above the national average, a high percentage of HCAHPS (hospital consumer assessment of health plans survey) respondents that said they would definitely recommend Emerson, and a low rate of early deliveries. The top 15% of eligible hospitals around the country received the America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics honor.
“Emerson has proven it gives the best care to new moms and babies,” said Delia Passi, CEO and Founder, Women’s Choice Award. “As a consumer advocate for women, we set higher patient standards and expectations by identifying those hospitals that are focused on meeting the highest levels of care that women value. Congratulations to the staff at Emerson whose outstanding efforts achieved these top results of being named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics.”
