Do you find yourself
forgetting names, wondering what you are looking for, or have trouble
retrieving that thought? You are not alone. Join Alina Carter, MS, CCC-SLP, Speech-Language
Pathologist at Emerson Hospital for an informative talk on November 15 about key
strategies for keeping the mind sharp and healthy at every age.
The Brain
Fitness: Tips for a Healthy Mind workshop is hosted by The Thoreau Club, as
part of the Club’s HealthyCare lecture series and monthly workshops on wellness
topics. This event is free, open to the public and will take place on
Wednesday, November 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Thoreau
Center, 275 Forest Ridge Road, Concord.
Ms. Carter will discuss
typical cognitive-linguistic changes in the brain as you age. In
addition, she will share research on techniques and strategies to help promote
a healthy mind. There will be ample time for audience questions following her
presentation. In her work at Emerson, Ms. Carter evaluates and treats adult
patients with language, cognitive and speech deficits that result from
traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors and neurodegenerative processes.
