At Emerson Hospital’s Annual Meeting held recently, nine Concord residents were elected as Corporators of the hospital. Corporators represent the health interests of the 25 communities served by Emerson.
“As Emerson continues to succeed as a top community hospital in today’s challenging health care environment, our Corporators are an integral part of our mission to provide the best health care to every person in the many towns that the hospital and health system serves,” said Paul D. Birch, Chair, Emerson Hospital Board of Directors. “Through their work as ambassadors, they educate the community on ways that Emerson is expanding its services to treat an ever-growing population using sophisticated technology and state-of-the-art equipment, while maintaining its focus on providing the highest quality compassionate care to patients. We are grateful to our Corporators who have accepted the responsibility to serve the community in this important way.”
Emerson relies on its volunteer corporators as ambassadors of the hospital through the work they do communicating information about the hospital's programs and services to the residents and businesses in their communities. Corporators also elect the hospital’s Board of Directors and new Corporators each year at the hospital’s annual meeting.

Emerson Hospital’s new Corporators from Concord are:
Matt Boger serves as Chair of the Concord Democratic Town Committee, Deacon at Tri-Con Church, Board member at the Fenn School, past Chair of the Concord Library Committee, and coach of lacrosse and soccer for local teams. He works at New England Donor Services which is responsible for the surgical recovery of organs and tissues for transplant throughout New England.
Ron Bott is a financial professional at New York Life specializing in helping business owners protect their family, business, employees and financial future. Ron serves as Board President of the Nature Connection and Executive Secretary at the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley.
Amy Capofreddi is the Development Manager at Gaining Ground where she oversees all aspects of the fundraising program. Amy has served as a Board Member of the Concord Carlisle Community Chest and was Co-President of the organization.
Eric Haartz is CEO of Haartz Corporation, an Acton-based manufacturer of engineered coated materials for automotive and marine industries throughout the world. He is involved with the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce School-Business Partnership Committee and is active in the Horseless Carriage Car Club of America. He served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Emerson Hospital.
Jared Keyes is a limited Partner of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. In addition to serving as Vice Chair of the Board of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, he serves on the advisory councils of Massachusetts Audobon, The Fenn School, and Trustees of Reservation.
Alison Millerick grew up in Concord and is a trained muscular therapist. Her mother was a long-time volunteer at Emerson Hospital and her brother is also a Corporator. She is raising her family in Concord.
Patty Popov is an attorney and professional fiduciary at Nichols and Pratt, LLP. She is on the Standing Committee at the First Parish Church of Concord. In the past she has served as a Trustee at Middlesex School, been a member of the Town of Concord Finance Committee, and served many roles on the Concord Carlisle Community Chest.
Virginia Shannon volunteers as a liaison with the Jefferson Awards Foundation for their Students in Action program that uses service learning as a vehicle for teaching leadership skills to students. She is also a facilitator for Roots and Wings, a consulting company focused on leadership training and team building.
Tom Valle is a Senior Vice President at Jackowitz & Company where he is an executive recruiter responsible for leading retained search assignments. He serves on the Town of Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee, among other organizations.
These corporators from Concord are part of the class of 2019 which is comprised of corporators from towns throughout Emerson Hospital’s service area including Carlisle, Lexington, Lincoln, Sudbury and Westford.
