Emerson Hospital Named a Best Hospital for Obstetrics and Bariatric Surgery

Emerson Hospital is honored to be named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics and Bariatric Surgery in 2017 by the Women’s Choice Award, a national referral source for women.  The recognition is based on Emerson’s safety and patient satisfaction scores.

Emerson was chosen as a Best Hospital for Obstetrics among maternity hospitals throughout the United States based on: patient safety rankings above the national average, a high percentage of HCAHPS (hospital consumer assessment of health plans survey) respondents that said they would definitely recommend Emerson, low rates of early elective deliveries and Baby-Friendly USA designation, which Emerson just received. The top 17% of eligible hospitals received the America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics honor.

Emerson was chosen as a Best Hospital for Bariatric Surgery among those that perform weight loss surgeries throughout the United States based on: accreditation by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, high patient percentage of HCAHPS respondents that said they would definitely recommend Emerson for bariatric surgery, and a high patient safety ranking based on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ measures of infection and complication rates. The top 8% of eligible hospitals received the America’s Best Hospitals for Bariatric Surgery honor.
