CONCORD, Mass., January 5, 2018 – Emerson Hospital today announced the opening of its new Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body in Concord. The brand new center features three beautiful, modern studios and a classroom with all-natural bamboo flooring for comfort and durability, private therapy rooms for massage, acupuncture and tui na therapy and modern locker rooms with convenient changing areas.
The new 6,200 square foot center represents Emerson Hospital’s ongoing commitment to preventive care for people who live in the greater Concord community. It was designed to meet the diverse needs of our community, infants through seniors. “Wherever you are on your health care journey, prevention is key,” said Christine Gallery, Senior Vice President of Planning and Chief Strategy Officer at Emerson Hospital. “The new center offers classes for many different ages and fitness levels to help people get in shape, decrease stress, learn new skills and maintain or improve their health.”
With over 100 wellness classes available each semester, all taught by accredited, experienced instructors, Patti Salvatore, Center Director, helps participants select classes to meet their health goals. Classes starting this month include: Essentrics designed to help people slowly build strength, flexibility and mobility, qigong to help improve balance and enhance endurance, a wide variety of yoga classes for all abilities, kickboxing, mindfulness for young people, Stress Management and Resiliency Training, babysitting courses and more.
The center is supported by a generous gift of the Steinberg-Lalli Foundation, which endorses Emerson’s philosophy of maintaining good health, controlling health risks, getting fit and learning how to live in the healthiest ways possible.
The Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body is located about one mile from Emerson Hospital, at 310 Baker Avenue, Concord. There is free parking available.
