Emerson Hospital has been honored with the highest scores for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These marks underscore Emerson’s commitment to patient safety and focus on providing patients with the highest quality care. The results are used by the public to make informed decisions about where to go for hospital care.
For the 2021 spring season, Emerson received an “A”, the highest grade for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization that measures hospital safety. Leapfrog calculated the Spring 2021 Hospital Safety Score using data from more than 2,600 hospitals nationwide. Only 33 percent of hospitals in the country received an “A.”
In addition, Emerson Hospital received a five-star rating for overall quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Care Compare program. Five stars is the highest quality rating based on how well the hospital performed across different areas, including safety and readmission rates.
