sPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY FOR ADULTS
Our experienced, licensed speech-language pathologists provide expert evaluation and treatment in these areas:
- Cognitive disorders: difficulty with attention, memory, processing, organization and other thinking skills. Cognitive challenges can occur with concussion, brain tumor, stroke, other neurological diagnoses, or side effects of chemotherapy.
- Dysarthria: speech changes following a neurological event impacting clarity of speech.
- Aphasia: challenges with speaking, listening, reading, and writing that occur after a neurological event such as stroke or brain injury. In addition to individual therapy, We offer an Aphasia Conversation Group to strengthen functional communication skills.
- Swallowing disorders: difficulty safely tolerating food or liquids often associated with neurological disorders such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or as a side effect of head/neck cancer. We offer a clinical swallow evaluation as well as Modified Barium Swallow study.
- Voice disorders: including vocal hoarseness, chronic cough, muscle tension dysphonia, vocal cord paralysis or dysfunction, vocal fatigue, and paradoxical vocal fold motion (PVFM).
- Head/neck cancer: speech, voice, and swallowing impairments that can occur due to head/neck cancer and side effects of cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy or radiation).
