Emerson Hospital has opened its second urgent care center - Emerson Urgent Care at Littleton. The new urgent care center is located at the top of the hill at The Point shopping center, 830 Constitution Avenue, in Littleton, behind Tavern in the Square restaurant.
“We are very excited to now offer the excellent care that Emerson is known for directly to people who live and work in the greater Littleton community,” said Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson Hospital. “The opening of our Littleton urgent care center, following on the success of our Hudson urgent care center that opened earlier this year, is an important part of Emerson’s strategy to serve the health care needs of our community in a way that is convenient and easy for patients and families.”
Emerson Urgent Care at Littleton is staffed by board-certified physicians, certified radiology technicians, and other medical professionals who are on staff at Emerson Hospital. The team is specially trained in acute care medicine for all age groups. Patients typically come to the center for treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, including sore throats, cuts, stitches, ear and eye infections, neck and back pain, simple fractures, flu symptoms, minor burns, animal bites, rashes and allergic reactions. Dr. Joseph Palomba, medical director of Emerson Urgent Care said, “We are very pleased to serve the Littleton area community. Since the center opened, we have cared for patients with a variety of illnesses and injuries and look forward to continuing our work to keep the community healthy.”
The center provides access to Emerson’s high quality clinical care and laboratory, on-site X-ray and EKG services and is open convenient hours seven days a week with free parking. The center is purpose-built with patient care at the forefront of the design. Emerson selected noted architects and the hospital’s long-time design partner, Levi Wong of Concord, for the project. The hospital worked with JM Coull Inc. of Maynard to build the urgent care center. Emerson plans to open another urgent care center in Maynard in 2018.
