1/26/2018

Eshita Bakshi, DO, FAAP, has been named Chairman of the Pediatrics Department of Emerson Hospital. Dr. Bakshi is a community pediatrician who has her own practice, Walden Pond Pediatrics in Concord, and will continue in this capacity during her tenure as Chair.

She is board-certified in pediatrics and obtained her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Between 2008-2012, Dr. Bakshi served as a pediatrician in the U.S. Army while stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2009.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of Pediatrics at Emerson Hospital,” said Eshita Bakshi, DO. “The expertise of Emerson’s pediatric team, along with the latest equipment and tools the hospital has to treat children make it the obvious choice by parents in the community when their child is sick, injured, requires surgery, rehabilitative services, or preventive care to stay healthy.”

As Chair of Pediatrics, Dr. Bakshi serves as a leader on the Emerson Hospital Medical Executive Committee, guides the Pediatric Service meetings and is responsible for administrative programs of the Pediatric Department. “Under Dr. Bakshi’s leadership, pediatric patients will continue to receive the best care right in their own community,” said Christine Schuster, President and CEO of Emerson Hospital. “Emerson is pleased to provide comprehensive treatments to our youngest patients with the world-class care, convenience, and personal touch that our health system is known for.”

Emerson Hospital has a comprehensive network of highly skilled pediatricians, specialists, and staff to care for children throughout the hospital’s service area. Pediatric specialties include newborn care, emergency services, inpatient pediatrics, concussion diagnosis and care, orthopedics, nutrition, rehabilitation services, a sleep lab, and more. Emerson’s Pediatric Intervention Team supports the emotional well-being of children throughout the hospital. Parents choose Emerson to care for their children because of its expertise and focus on providing the highest quality medical care with compassion.  The hospital is affiliated with MassGeneral Hospital for Children if more advanced care is needed.

Dr. Bakshi is a resident of Lincoln where she lives with her family. She speaks Spanish and Gujarathi, a dialect of India. When not seeing patients, she enjoys music, reading, theater, and singing and dancing with her two young boys.
