The Boston Globe’s 20th annual Salute to Nurses, published on May 7, 2023, during National Nurses Week, features 41 Emerson Health nurses, more than any other hospital or health system. Patients, families, and staff nominated Emerson nurses across many areas, including the concussion center, critical care, emergency, maternity, medical, oncology, surgical, urgent care, and urology.
The heartfelt nomination letters convey the nurses’ deep experience and commitment to exemplary patient care. Here are a few highlights from the notes:
“Compassionate, dependable, and selfless…”
“Makes us feel like we are her only patients and she has all the time in the world for our many questions…”
“Absolutely a ray of sunshine…”
“I will never forget the support she offered during my labor and how she stayed after her shift to see our baby be born.”
“I am beyond grateful for her presence, and for making sure I got the assistance I needed.”
“She defines what the next generation of nurses should be.”
