Emerson Hospital announced today that it has named Stephen Coco its new senior vice president and chief financial officer. When he joins Emerson in December, he will be responsible for the oversight of the health system’s financial operations.
Mr. Coco has more than thirty years of experience as a health care financial executive. He is currently senior vice president and CFO at South Shore Health (SSH). Under his leadership, SSH experienced a three-fold increase in size. In addition, he was the financial lead for the electronic medical record transition to Epic and the fiscal leader for multiple campus expansion projects and clinical affiliations.
“Steve joins Emerson at a pivotal time to support our vision of transforming care in our region,” said Christine Schuster, RN, MBA, president and CEO of Emerson. “He will help to expand Emerson’s scale and scope over the next five years and is an exceptional addition to Emerson’s leadership team.”
Mr. Coco adds, “Emerson has long been recognized as a leader in delivering exceptional health care to the community. I am excited to work at a health system focused on the patient experience — an area that is essential to providing outstanding care.”
