Emerson Hospital Awarded Highest Patient Safety Grade

Emerson Health again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent non-profit organization that serves as a voice for healthcare consumers. The public uses the results to decide which hospital to choose for care.

Leapfrog calculates the Hospital Safety Score under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s Expert Panel using data from more than 2,900 acute care hospitals nationwide on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. Hospitals are assigned a letter grade for their overall performance. Just 29 percent of hospitals in the country and only 20 hospitals in Massachusetts received an A.
