Experience
Francesca graduated from Northeastern University with an undergraduate degree in rehabilitation sciences and a doctorate in physical therapy. She has been a practicing physical therapist since 2010. Prior to joining the Emerson team, she practiced in an outpatient orthopedic setting and fulfilled the duties of a lead therapist on a spinal cord injury and amputee inpatient rehabilitation unit. Some of the many diagnoses she has experience treating include Guillain-Barré syndrome, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury/disease, ALS, stroke, traumatic/non-traumatic brain injury, transverse myelitis, and COVID-19/post-acute COVID-19 syndrome. She is familiar with the prescription of complex manual and power wheelchair seating as well as orthotic and prosthetic training. Francesca is a part of the wheelchair seating clinic at the Concord location, where she works with assistive technology providers in the area to prescribe specialized mobility and adaptive equipment.
