Experience
Ms. Norquist graduated from Boston University with a master’s degree in occupational therapy and an undergraduate degree in therapeutic studies. Prior to joining the Emerson staff, Ms. Norquist worked in a hospital setting for eight years where she provided outpatient care for upper extremity and vestibular conditions and inpatient care for a wide variety of orthopedic, neurological, and other complex medical conditions. Ms. Norquist has received a certification in hand therapy from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and has completed continuing education coursework in the treatment of upper extremity and vestibular conditions. In addition to providing training in therapeutic exercise, safe body mechanics, and activity modification, Ms. Norquist is proficient in the fabrication of splints/orthoses and the use of adjunctive treatments including ultrasound, low level laser therapy, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, and joint and soft tissue mobilization to reduce pain and restore function.
