Experience
Ms. Deardorff graduated from Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences with a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2002. Her undergraduate degree is in human development and health sciences from Penn State University. Prior to joining the outpatient therapy team at Emerson, she has had 15 years of experience working in acute inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, where she specialized in the treatment of patients impacted with stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders and multi-trauma orthopedic injuries. Ms. Deardorff is certified in the Neuro-IFRAH (Integrative Functional Rehabilitation and Habilitation) treatment approach for the management of adults with hemiplegia and has completed further coursework for advanced hand function and fine motor control within this framework.
