The article reveals how Jo's health has drastically improved, as has her activity level. An excerpt: Her life today, compared to her life before the gastric bypass, is “night and day.” To start with, Horner said, she’s no longer asthmatic or on high blood pressure medication. Before surgery, she said she used not to want to go somewhere, and social situations were very awkward. She avoided the gym and exercise. Now she goes to the gym three or four times a week.
