Our Providers
Atif Khan, MD, FACS, has advanced and refined his ability to perform laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery. This approach is associated with less post-surgical pain and a quicker recovery than traditional surgery. He has a special interest in treating diseases of the anus and rectum, which are often misdiagnosed, causing individuals unnecessary pain. Dr. Khan was named a Boston Magazine Top Doctor for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Elizaveta Ragulin Coyne, MD, FACS, has experience performing a wide variety of laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgical procedures, and has trained in the most up to date methods of laparoscopic practice of small bowel, colon disease, and complex hernias. Dr. Ragulin Coyne also has a clinical interest in treating breast cancer and melanoma patients.
Christopher Schlieve, MD, joined our practice in the summer of 2021. His clinical interests include adult and pediatric minimally-invasive (laparoscopic) general surgery, abdominal wall defects (umbilical, epigastric, incisional and groin hernias), gastrointestinal (gallbladder and small intestine) and colorectal disease (diverticular and colon cancer), as well as breast surgery (benign and cancer).
Alexandra Columbus, MD, MPH, also joined the practice in 2021. She specializes in both general surgery and colorectal surgery. Her expertise will support colon cancer treatment and care in partnership with oncologists at Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital – Bethke. Her clinical interests include anorectal disease, colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Suzanne Roberts, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in surgical breast oncology and benign breast disease. She has particular interest in genetic/familial high-risk screening, and breast cancer survivorship. She also serves as a first assist at surgery, for breast as well as general surgery cases, and provides clinical care for general surgery patients, including postoperative care for hernia, gallbladder, appendix, and colorectal surgery. She is passionate about the art and science of nursing and is dedicated to serving the needs of the whole patient.
The providers are known for communicating clearly and effectively and for being available to their patients. They strive to explain the procedure and give patients the time they need to feel comfortable and earn their trust. They are supported by a dedicated office staff who share the same philosophy of patient care. They work together to coordinate your surgery or appointment and see that everything goes smoothly.
