Safe imaging for children and adults
Emerson Hospital adheres to national
Image Gently guidelines, which endorse always using a carefully calibrated child-sized radiation dose on pediatric patients.
We are also part of the American College of Radiology’s
Image Wisely initiative to lower the amount of radiation used in medically necessary adult imaging studies, and eliminate unnecessary procedures.
Importantly, Emerson Hospital’s imaging capabilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology — a testament to our commitment to strict quality and
safety standards.
For the safety of our patients and staff and to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, imaging and radiology services have made adjustments to the scheduling, hours of operation and enhanced cleaning protocols. All staff are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms, and patients are screened during their registration call and again upon arrival. Patients will be met at the entrance where they will be screened, asked to sanitize their hands, and don a fresh mask. At that point the patient will be given instructions for their visit.
