The Emerson Health Care Foundation raises funds for capital projects, equipment and programs through targeted major gift campaigns. This focused approach has enabled Emerson Hospital to undertake some major improvements and acquire important new technology — significantly enhancing patient care.
Over the past decade, we have been able to implement transformative upgrades to emergency services, surgery, obstetrics, radiology, cancer, breast health, anticoagulation management, rehabilitation and concussion care.
In addition, patient floors (Wheeler 4 and Wheeler 5) were completely refurbished, which included creation of a new Pediatric Unit.
With the generous support of our community, Emerson Hospital will continue to expand services and enhance its physical plant to meet the demands and expectations of all the people we serve.
Below are projects for which we are currently raising funds:
- Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body — a new 6,200-square-foot facility in Concord offering a wide range of classes and programs designed to keep our community healthy. The new center includes treatment rooms for individual massage, acupuncture and Reiki; additional, enlarged classrooms; private locker rooms for men and women and more. Participants can expect the same high-quality instruction from experienced professionals all of whom are certified in their specialty area. For more information, click here [PDF].
- Patient Access Endowment Fund — to create an annual source of funds for patients challenged by food insecurity, inadequate income, limited transportation, homelessness or lack of family support leading to inadequate medical care. Distribution of funds will be under the direction of the care management team of Emerson Hospital. For more information, click here [PDF].
- Special Care Nursery — comprehensive reorganization of the Level II Special Care Nursery located within the Clough Birthing Center, including all new furnishings, acoustical features to reduce excess noise, efficient built-ins to accommodate better access — all designed to remove as many stressors on premature babies so they can reserve their energy for healing and growing. - Urology Center of Excellence — Emerson Hospital’s newest center of excellence, a 5,300-square-foot center outfitted with six exam rooms, three procedure rooms providing patients access to urodynamic testing; with particular focus on complex urologic cancer cases under the direction of renowned urologist and surgeon Dr. John Libertino, formerly chair of Lahey Clinic’s Institute of Urology and Chief of Surgery. The center will also provide educational opportunities for physicians to pursue research and advanced clinical training. For more information, click here [PDF].
