Dr. Sidhartha Pani’s Paintings Now on Display at Emerson Medical at Sudbury through October

As part of its mission to keep the community healthy, Emerson Medical at Sudbury continues its art exhibit series to inspire wellness. The latest exhibit, “Out of Africa,” features paintings by Dr. Sidhartha Pani, Medical Director of Emerson Primary Care Associates of Sudbury. The series is based on his family’s experiences in Kenya and Tanzania, and the richness of wildlife in the Serengeti, Ngoro Ngoro, Amboseli and Masai Mara.

In My Own Voice: Sophia’s Scoliosis Makes Her Stronger Physically and Mentally

Sophia was diagnosed with scoliosis at age ten and required comprehensive management by a team of clinicians. Today, due to her hard work with Schroth physical therapy, wearing a back brace, and meeting regularly with the team at the Emerson Scoliosis Program, her posture has noticeably improved.

Jim Rand of Acton Receives Outstanding Volunteer Award at Emerson Hospital

Since 2001, Emerson's Volunteer of the Year award winner, Jim Rand has spent nearly all  of his Thursdays volunteering at the hospital. His role is unique because he is the only volunteer at the hospital who does what he does. Jim uses his vast knowledge working for decades at Raytheon as an electronic systems engineer to help keep technology running smoothly throughout the hospital. 
 

Local Resident Becomes First in State to Be Certified in Dance for Parkinson’s Disease

Susanne Liebich, instructor with The Steinberg Wellness Center at Emerson Hospital, is the first person in Massachusetts to earn a Certification in Dance for Parkinson’s Disease (PD®). Dance for PD classes at the Steinberg Wellness Center invite those with PD and caregivers to experience the benefits and joys of dance while helping to enhance balance, cognition, mobility, depression and physical confidence. 

Gloria Clough Elected Chair of Emerson Hospital’s Board

Emerson Hospital’s Board of Directors recently elected Gloria Clough as its Chair, effective immediately. She succeeds outgoing Chair Paul Birch who remains active on Emerson’s Board and various health system committees. Ms. Clough works closely with Emerson’s CEO, Christine Schuster, to establish the overall vision and goals of the Emerson Health System.
