Emerson Hospital Receives Achievement Awards for its Care of Stroke Patients

The American Heart Association / American Stroke Association honored Emerson Hospital recently for its excellence in treating stroke patients. Emerson earned the Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and was named to the Target: Stroke Honor Roll.  


 

Dr. Robin Schoenthaler, Radiation Oncologist, Honored as 2018 Physician Quality Champion

At Emerson Hospital’s annual Physician Recognition Dinner held recently, Robin Schoenthaler, MD, received the 2018 Physician Quality Champion Award. A radiation oncologist at Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital-Bethke since 1997, Dr. Schoenthaler has dedicated her career to improving the lives of her patients who have cancer. 

Drop Off Box for Prescription Medications Now Available at Emerson Hospital

Thanks to a gift from the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital, Emerson now has a MedSafe kiosk where anyone can safely drop off their unused or expired medications any time of day or night. The box is located in the hallway of Emerson’s Emergency Department, located at 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, Concord. MedSafe safely disposes of the medications so they will not harm the environment. Dropping off unused prescriptions will help ensure a safe community. Babies Born at Emerson Hospital Go Home with New Sleep Sacks

Babies born at Emerson Hospital will now be going home with new sleep sacks thanks to a gift from the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital. Sleep sacks have been proven to be safe for sleeping babies and reduce hip dysplasia in infants, a condition where the baby’s hip joint is dislocated, which can result in a limp and pain during movement. 

Emerson Hospital Announces Devastating Impacts of Ballot Question 1

Emerson Hospital has announced the negative impacts mandated nurse staffing ratios would have on its viability and capability to provide safe, quality care to patients across the region. Slated to be Question 1 on the ballot this November, these rigid staffing ratios will devastate community hospitals across Massachusetts, according to an independent study by MassInsight and BW Research Partners.
